A little more than 40 years ago, Pastor Jim traveled the Western United States, as a professional magician.  He primarily performed for schools, business clubs, shopping malls, and vacation resorts.  He left that career, married, went to seminary, and became a pastor.  In 2022, he took on the "ministry director" role for Awana Kids Clubs at Living Water, which re-ignited his passion for performing illusions for kids.  This time, however, he has dedicated his illusions to a greater purpose than mere entertainment. His illusions serve as a means for teaching a weekly Bible lesson.  Occasionally teamed with a church deacon who does clowning, Ron and Pastor Jim frequently perform at Awana and are able, on a limited basis, to take their show (which is called "Pappy and the Professor") on the road.
