AWANA

AWANA helps churches and parents partner to develop children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. In 2010 Awana celebrates 60 years of God’s faithfulness in impacting young lives around the world. Awana rejoices over partnerships with churches and parents that produce a lasting Christian faith.

The founders of AWANA derived the name “AWANA” from the letters of “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” which is taken from 2nd Timothy 2:15 ~ Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

A recent national survey found Awana to be as important to the club’s alumni spiritual development as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in Awana programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church about weekly or more frequently as adults.

The AWANA Club at Living Water Church ministers to kids in the age group from Pre-K to sixth grade from our church family, as well as the community at-large. The club year starts in mid-September and goes to mid April. Club night is on Wednesday with the hours of 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

Throughout the club year we hold “special” club nights: Camo Night, Store Night, Pinewood Car Grand Prix, a Christmas Time Night, Crazy Hair Night, and Movie Night.

This summer we are holding a new event for the AWANA club and church family – AWANA Family Campfire Nights. We will one of these fun filled evenings once a month during the summer season
